PARENTING

Parents face a multitude of challenges, from the demands of caregiving to balancing work and family life, all of which can lead to stress, anxiety, and strain on their relationships.

Therapy can be a valuable resource, offering a safe space to explore these challenges, develop effective coping strategies, improve communication within the family, and provide emotional support.

As a mom myself, I can deeply understand the many challenges you face as a parent. Together, we will work on navigating the complexities of parenthood, strengthening your relationships, and enhancing your well-being and the well-being of your children.

PERINATAL & POSTNATAL

Pregnancy and the postpartum period can be some of the most beautiful and simultaneously most challenging periods of our lives.

Suddenly, we find ourselves navigating physical exhaustion from pregnancy and childbirth, hormonal fluctuations leading to mood swings and anxiety, the overwhelming responsibility of caring for a newborn, sleep deprivation, societal pressures, and the isolating nature of this life-changing transition all at once. If you feel overwhelmed, you are not alone.

Together, we will address the emotional, psychological, and relational challenges that can arise during this significant life transition. I will provide a safe space for you to explore your feelings, cope with perinatal mood disorders, manage stress, and strengthen your support systems, ultimately promoting a healthy transition to parenthood.

anxiety

Are you troubled by persistent worry, irrational fears, difficulty sleeping, or physical symptoms like racing heart and restlessness?

Do you notice avoidance behavior or a reduced quality of life? If anxiety is getting in the way of your life or relationships, I can help.

I offer a supportive and warm space to explore the underlying cause of your anxiety and work toward lasting relief. Together, we will learn valuable tools to manage anxiety, identify triggers, challenge negative thought patterns, and develop coping strategies for when anxiety rears its ugly head.

We will work together to regain control over your anxiety and help you lead a more fulfilling life.

life transitions

Life is full of transitions, like starting a new job, moving to a new home or city, getting married, getting divorced, becoming a parent, or coping with loss.

Even the most positive of changes can trigger stress, anxiety, and uncertainty. If you are facing a major transition, therapy can help by providing emotional support, helping you process your feelings, and developing coping strategies.

I will walk with you as you adjust to new roles, manage the stress associated with change, and help foster resilience. By addressing the psychological and emotional aspects of transitions, I can help you adapt more smoothly and find personal growth amid the change.

TRAUMA

Trauma can have profound and lasting effects on a person's life, often leading to symptoms such as anxiety, depression, flashbacks, and difficulty in forming or maintaining relationships.

It can disrupt daily functioning and hinder your emotional well-being. Trauma-focused therapy can provide a safe and structured environment for you to process and heal from trauma. I utilize evidence-based treatments to treat trauma symptoms, including Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE).

Together, we can work to help you understand and manage your emotional responses, develop coping strategies, and gradually work through traumatic memories, empowering you to regain a sense of control and ultimately improve your overall quality of life

IDENTITY DEVELOPMENT

The process of self-discovery is complex and can be both painful and incredibly beautiful. If you are in the process of finding yourself, you may feel pressure due to family or societal expectations.

It is common to grapple with questions about your values, beliefs, and who you truly are. I offer a supportive, warm, and nonjudgmental space for exploring these issues, helping individuals gain insight into their identity, clarify their values, and develop a stronger sense of self.

I’m extremely passionate about providing culturally sensitive and identity-affirming care to folks who identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ community.

sexual assault

Sexual assault can have devastating and long-lasting effects on a person's life, leading to feelings of shame, guilt, anxiety, depression, and even post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Survivors may struggle with trust issues, intimacy problems, self-blame, and disruptions in daily functioning. If you are a survivor, what happened to you is not your fault.

As a trauma-informed therapist, I can help you by providing a safe and supportive space to process your trauma, manage emotional distress, and develop healthy coping mechanisms. In our work together, I aim to help you regain a sense of control, rebuild your self-esteem, and navigate the path toward healing and recovery.

grief & loss

Grief involves a complex and deeply emotional response to the loss of a loved one. When a loved one passes, it can bring up feelings of sadness, anger, guilt, and confusion, which can be overwhelming and unpredictable.

Grief challenges us to adjust to a world without the presence of a significant person, disrupting our sense of normalcy and often requiring a profound reevaluation of life and identity.

The process of grieving can be physically and emotionally exhausting, and the duration and intensity of grief can vary greatly from person to person. In therapy, I provide a safe and empathetic space for you to express your emotions, share your memories, and process your emotions, whatever they might be.

I can help develop coping strategies to manage your grief, and find ways to honor and remember your loved one. Through therapy, individuals can gradually come to terms with their loss, adjust to a new normal, and find a path toward healing and resilience
